Linda Ogden Callaway tells about her mom:

Edna Brox was born on the 4th of July, 1922 in Salina, Utah to

George and Rachel Rasmussen Brox. She was the third of 5 children.

They lived in Marysvale ,Utah where her father worked for the

power company. It was in church in Maysvale that she met Dale Ogden

when she was 12. In the summer the Ogdens were in Marysvale

at the Ranch. She says she knew she was going to marry him.

They were married on Oct 4, 1939.

When she was 14 she had her first real bad experience with the

kidney disease that would plague her for the rest of her life.

Now they know that it is genetic, but they knew nothing of it at the time

or what to do to help her.

When she was just 17 she and Dale Ogden were married in the

Manti Temple. They had 3 children and then got lucky and got Bill.

There are so many things about our mom that I could say.

She was a stalwart member of the church. She loved beautiful things

and beautiful places. She was very talented musically. She learned to play the

piano by sitting close while her sister got lessons. She learned to play

the organ and loved it so much. She played the organ in the

Saint George Temple until her health finally made it impossible.

She was the leader of beautiful ward choirs. She took oil painting classes

and painted wonderful pictures.

During the 60s she had a drapery shop at the carpet store.

She made beautiful drapes that hung all over Southern California.

She and dad were married 53 yrs when he died. She really hated being alone

so she married her friend Wally Gunn who had just lost his wife.

They had 8 fun years together before he passed. Then she had to go on

dialysis that lasted for 4 yrs. The last year was really bad for her and

she chose not to go anymore right after Thanksgiving of 2005. She passed

away on Dec 4, 2005. We her family really do miss her.
