William Quinney - a Poem

When Mom Cranks Up Her Ear - By William Quinney

For mom inserts her finger

So it fits her ear most snug,

And then begins a movement

That reminds one of a bug.

At first the tempo’s very slow,

Increasing to adagio;

With final movements quickening

She should be in a side show.

The grand finale now takes place;

We come from far and near

To watch the pleasure on her face

When mom cranks up her ear.
