Lois Sorenson Ogden 1923 - 2010

Lois Sorenson Ogden

Lois Sorenson Ogden passed away April 21, 2010, in Glenwood. She was born in Rock Springs, Wyo., Oct 10, 1923, to Syril Cristo and Lottie Peterson Sorenson. The family lived in Wyoming until Mom was six-years old when they moved to Richfield. She graduated from Richfield High School Class of 1942.

She married Ted Ross Ogden June 10, 1943, in the Manti LDS Temple. He was killed during World War II in France Dec. 9, 1944. She married Everett L. Anderson Feb. 3, 1946 in Richfield. He died April 7, 1967.

She served in the Sunday School and MIA. She also served as a PTA officer.

She has been able to attend the weddings of all seven of her grandchildren in the Manti Temple

She loved to dance, beginning when she was six years old and continuing throughout her life, trying to teach her children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren a few dance steps.

Mom had a very artistic eye and could decorate anywhere or anything. She loved to celebrate all holidays and other events with her decorations. When she moved to Salt Lake City in 1968 her talent got her a job with the downtown Sears Store doing the displays on the floor and in the windows. She received awards and recognitions from them for her originality and ideas.

After living in Salt Lake for 10 years she returned to Richfield and continued her display work in a few Richfield stores and in her home. She had decorations in her home for every month and loved making her home festive.

Mom is survived by her daughters and son: Patricia (Dean) Meacham, Glenwood; Terry (Sharon) Anderson, West Valley City; and Jolayne (Don) Okerlund, Salina; seven grandchildren, Cole, Ted, Lana, Jason, Justin, Marlo, and Tyler and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Harry Graves), Jeri Ward, Meridian, Idaho; brother, Marvin (Vera) Salisbury. Richfield.

She was preceded in death by parents, Syril Sorensen and Lottie Salisury; step-father, Bert Salisbury; grandchildren, Tod Meacham and Eric Meacham; great-grandchild, Taylor Brynn Okerlund; sisters, Frances Staples and Joyce Anderson and a nephew, Tony Staples.
